Antennas
I have done a great deal of research on antennas over the
past few months and a couple of months ago installed a Winegard
antenna in our attic. I have posted the model
below. Before you click on it or decide to buy it, you
need to do a little research on the frequency and range of
local broadcasts in your region in addition to the distance
from the main broadcast center. This link will help you
determine the distance and the type of channels in your
area. From this you can select which antenna works
best.

Once this is done you can go here, which is Amazon to buy
the antenna. I found Winegard to be more expensive than
Amazon or other antenna suppliers.
This is the antenna I installed.
My area consists of high VHF channels - 7 to 13.
This is a great option to mounting the antenna to a
dish.
Digital Converter Boxes
There are many converter boxes available on the market and
at the moment most of them are names I have never heard of so
it makes it difficult to buy on brand reputation. If you
have already been doing some research you may have noticed
there are many mixed reviews on most models. I couldn't
even tell you the name of the model we have in our home, so I
am not going to really recommend any. I will mention one
I found, (but have not tested yet) that goes out 7 days
on channel programming. The one we currently have goes
out 1 hour. The model is the DTVPal Plus http://www.dtvpal.com/, which
comes from Echostar or Dish Network. We will have a
review soon here and on our blog.
